It is said that Manoharganj was named as a place of attraction for traders at the mouth of Dakatiya river and Ghagaria river on the way to Kharsrota river towards Mellar on the banks of Ghagaria canal in present day Laksa. Many believe that Manoharganj, the site of the jute trading center, was later transformed into Ganj. According to some, a potter / potter by the name of Manohar built a pottery factory in this place. The merchants named the place Manoharganj after him as a tradition. Whatever the historical fact, Manoharganj is a fascinating famous business place which is located in the center of 03 (three) unions. Manoharganj Upazila At the 90th meeting of Nikar on 28 August 2004, it was decided to form a new administrative upazila called Manoharganj Upazila comprising 11 unions. Then the administrative activities of Manoharganj upazila started from 05/02/2005.
